When you think about what is missing in the modern-day cycling world, naturally the first thought that comes to mind is the need for a “cosmopolitan ride with a bit of style.” To fill this void, a group in London started The Tweed Run London, riding their bikes through the city streets dressed in tweeds to raise money for Bicycles for Humanity. Bicycles For Humanity is a global movement that started in central British Columbia. Gearing Up for the Olympics

The Olympics can be a touchy subject. They either inspire national pride or incite political discussion about what role the quadrennial athletic celebration should be playing, how cities should be chosen, etc. That being said, when all the drama is over and the games actually begin, it is hard not to celebrate along with the rest of the nation. We at the Pedaler are no exception, and can’t help but be excited for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics! While the Winter Olympics are typically when Canada tends to shine (a fortunate side-effect of our constant state of winter within which to … Continued

Community Outreach: Our Place Society

In the Fall of 2014, The Pedaler was having casual meetings with Velofix, an amazing full service mobile bike shop operating out of specialty vans. These conversations led to The Pedaler and Velofix creating a program we are proud to be a part of today. As two relatively new businesses in both the cycling and the business community of Victoria, The Pedaler and Velofix felt a strong urge to give back in some way. The reality of being a small, new business is that financial margins can be tight, so we opted instead to give back with our time rather than … Continued
